Knock it off...

italy / italian / humor / language — knock offsHere we see one of the many examples of poor translation. Obviously, this wasn’t produced by Disney but you wouldn’t know it for all of the marks and symbols that were placed on it. Here, an Italian wouldn't know the difference (a small price to pay for the small price to pay). You can get a knock off of just about anything (but at least make sure the logo reads "Prada" and not "Prado").

It's actually difficult to find clothing in Italy with Italian words… just English! Some of the words and phrases are pretty funny (e.g., Seventy Girl, University of the United States, To Break In Case of Fire). Also, all of the stop signs in Italy actually say "STOP" (there must have been a really big sale somewhere).

Trevor told me of that during an oral exam in English one of his classmates was asked to respond to the question, "What's your favorite hobby?" His response was, "Yes." He had a better than average chance of getting it right!
