Beauty in Italy...
This is the famed Amalfi coast. I call this picture "Beauty in Italy." What more can be said?In the month of August, practically the entire country of Italy goes on vacation (usually to the beach if the people live inland or to the country if they live on the coast). Many families own apartments where they vacation every year. For our first summer holiday we vacationed in Pineto with Anne-Marie's friend, Simona (for whom she was a Nanny years earlier). Simona's family has been vacationing there for 30+ years. The proximity of your beach chair to the water is based on how long you've rented chairs at that particular beach shack. We were lucky to be placed on the third row (since someone didn't show up and we were friends of Simona who was on the first row). I wonder how many years it takes to work your way to the first row?
It's great that Italian families get away each year and vacation. Of course, the men hang with the men and the women with the women but there's a lot of family time and a lot of things to do in Italy.
